Waxbook keeps a binder of your cards and the sales you verify, and this page says exactly what that involves: what we store, what we never store, who touches it, how long it's kept, and how you delete it. The short version: we store card identities and sale facts, we never store listing photos or your eBay credentials, and nothing here is sold or used for advertising.
Waxbook stores your account (the ID and email address your sign-in provider gives us, through Auth0), the cards you add (player, year, set, number, parallel, grade, serial run), and the sale facts you verify: the listing's item number, the sold date, the price or a note that the price was hidden, the sale type, and your answers when Waxbook asks about a sale. We also keep an event log of what your account did in Waxbook (added a card, recorded a sale, undid one), so you can see how a value came to be. We use this data for one purpose: keeping your binder and its values. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train models. The only recipients are the service providers that run Waxbook: our hosting provider (Fly.io), our sign-in provider (Auth0 and, if you choose Google sign-in, Google), and our encrypted backup storage. When you use Waxbook inside ChatGPT, your conversation with ChatGPT is handled by OpenAI under OpenAI's own privacy policy; Waxbook receives only the tool calls ChatGPT makes for you.
Waxbook never stores listing photos, listing titles as written, or seller names. It stores facts about a sale, not the listing itself. Waxbook has no access to your eBay account and never signs in to eBay: sold listings are read in your own browser session, by you or by ChatGPT's browser acting for you. Waxbook never stores your eBay password, and we never see it.
When you show Waxbook a card photo in ChatGPT, the photo is read there to identify the card, and only the identity (player, year, set, number, and what else is printed on the card) reaches Waxbook. Waxbook does not receive or keep the photo. If you use the optional iPhone Shortcut, the screenshot is read on your phone and only the sale's facts are sent; the image and the screenshot's text never leave your phone.
A value in Waxbook comes only from a sale that was recorded for your card, and every recorded sale keeps its source: the item number, the sold date, and whether you confirmed it or Waxbook matched it for you. You can undo any recorded sale at any time, and a sale you mark "Not my card" is never matched to that card again. Waxbook never invents a price, never averages in a sale you rejected, and shows "Unpriced" rather than a guess.
You can delete any card, undo any sale, and revoke the iPhone Shortcut's token at any time, in ChatGPT or on this site. To delete your account and everything in it, email support@waxbook.app from the address on your account; we delete your data within 30 days, and it leaves our encrypted backups as they expire on their 14-day schedule. Until you delete them, your cards and sales are kept so your binder keeps working — that's the point of a ledger.
